hi folks, Im trying to find any info about this pub, I know that it was on Lock Lane at the side of the canal.
Ive been to Allerton Bywater and cant find it although I did find a pub near the canal on Lock Lane called The Old Mill, could this be it? Im wondering if its been demolished by now ( i know it was partial to flooding!) My ancestors (Pearson family) ran this pub for many years and I would love to know more about it
Any help very useful and much appreciated, thanks guys

Hi
if you go to the Twixt Aire and Calder website, and type 'Navigation Inn, Castleford' into the 'search' box, there are a couple of photos of it :)

If you've gone to Allerton, you've gone too far.
Between the Aire bridge and the canal bridge, heading out of Castleford, the "Old Mill" pub is on the left which you have already located. Almost opposite, ie on the right, is "The Griffin" pub. Looking at the front of the Griffin, there's a narrow road to the left. That leads to Castleford 4x4 centre. Go down that road and stand looking at the 4x4 garage and the "Navigation" was on your left, backing onto the canal side.
