Hi,
I found this:
F. Lynes Lance Corporal 2563717, The King's Own Scottish Borderers.
Record Office: Infantry Record Office Perth
POW held in German territories.
I think some POW records are at the National Archives.

Do you have any details about his age or where he was born?
Could this be him?

WO 344/192/2 would give you most of what you want to know providing he did make a report when liberated in 1945. Name Rank No. D.O.B. Home address. Date of enlistment and much more.
The File would give dates of capture and the dates when in various Camps and Work Details.
Unfortunately not all POW made a report when Liberated, but the chance of finding so much detail makes it worthwhile checking.
