Title: WILLIAM MAYES

Hi
I was hoping for some help in finding information about WILLIAM MAYES (Born Co Down), married to ELIZABETH (possibly EPPS).  She was born in Melbourne circa 1874.  They married around 1890 and had at least 1 child in Sydney (JENNIE) in 1893.  I think there was an elder child also.  They then moved to California to have 2 more kids, then back home to Ireland where they settled in Lisburn.   Trying to find any info on their time in Australia, getting there, marriage details and Jennie's birth details.  I'd also like to know more about ELIZABETH.  First time looking at Australia, so any help appreciated.

This looks like the marriage for the parents of above children

There is a death of a Margaret A Mayes in 1914 in Redfern, Sydney reg 10124/1914.  (parents George and Ann J) Perhaps William then married Elizabeth...?

Hmm here is a death notice in 1914 for Margaret Ann Mayes http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article15533611
But no mention of husband - and children's names don't quite match.  Loving mother of William, Bella and Jean aged 52

adding : I guess Annie I could have been Annie Isabelle and known as Bella.  And maybe Jean was Jenny

William Mayes born Sept 1862 but may be recorded five years either side – he visited Australia with Elizabeth his wife around 1892 when their daughter Jane was born in Sydney
he went to California and then returned to Australia around 1912 to 1915 – he also seemed to have lived with his son William Greeley Mayes who also immigrated around the same time – he was born in USA in1894 and is known to have married Carol – All these people lived in NSW – William died in 1943 at Chatswood
