Title: Robert Salkeld
Post by: BorderReiver on Friday 27 July 12 13:43 BST (UK)
Looking for the deaths/burials of Robert Salkeld (b.1706) and his wife, Elizabeth.  He was an Excise Officer from Westmorland who served mainly in East Yorkshire but in a 'Dade' baptism entry, in 1782, was referred to as 'a farmer of Sunderland' - a farmer being a collector of tax and excise.

Sadly, not my Robert I'm afraid.  He was baptised at Brough-under-Stainmore, Westmorland in 1706.  He married Elizabeth Newmarch at Catwick, East Yorkshire in 1732.  He served as an Excise Officer mainly in East Yorks, including Hull, and was last referred to in 1742 as a 'farmer of Sunderland' - a farmer being a farmer of tax and excise.
