My nan Mary Annie Burt was born on RI abt 1883 and her ashes were scattered there after she died in Sheffield in 1962. Her mother was Emily(maiden name Holroyd b abt 1865)
Her father was William Burt b 1863, died I think 1951 He was a miner

Trying to piece together Emily's (My great Grandmother) family.
It looks like her father was David Holroyd and her mother possibly Elizabeth Robinson cannot find any information about them.

Also William Burt (b1863) parents were possibly  George Burt and Elizabeth Foster but again cannot seem to find much out

This appears to be the 1891 census for the family - all b Earsdon except Emily

Emily & William married March qtr 1884 as per freebmd and it looks as though Mary Ann was Emily's child before her marriage

Finally found them in 1871 in Chirton - transcribed as Holdzzd - image is Holdroyd

David Holroyd 40 mariner b Thornton Yorks
Elizabeth   35 b Benton Sq
Emily  4 b Cable Dean N Shields
Elizabeth 1  ditto
RG10 Piece 5115 Folio 6 Page 5

The 1861 shows them in Chirton but with an 11month old daughter Elizabeth Ann b North Shields  RG 9 Piece 3838 Folio 79 Page 45.  David was 30 b Bradford and Elizabeth 25 b Benton Square Northumberland

Whether Elizabeth was nee Robinson I don't know as the marriage between David Holroyd and Elizabeth Robinson was in 1853 in Huddersfield

Here's her birth reg which will enable you to check mothers maiden name

This will be Emily with her mother and stepfather in 1881.

There is a marriage on Familysearch, Tynemouth 3 Nov 1879, Francis William Sidney Pryce, age 43, and Elizabeth Holroyd, age 35. Grooms father William Sidney Pryce, brides father William Grundy.

On the North Tyneside BMD site, same details, Elizabeth Holroyd, formerly Grundy.

South Tyneside Registrars site has a marriage of a David Alroy and Elizabeth Grundy. 18 Dec 1854.

From the Register of Deaths at Sea.

Name of Ship - Sarah. Number - 44305. Wrecked - 10/11/78. David Oldroyd. Age 46. Cook and Steward. of North Shields, Last Abode - Seaton Sluice, Blyth. Cause of death - drowned.

One of eight crew members lost on the Sarah.

David & Elizabeth appear to have had another child
