Hello from the smallest state of the USA- Rhode Island. It seems as though so many of us here today have roots from the 1900's Bradford with the woolen industry.
I am wondering if anyone could please check a listing for me of
JOHN REDMAN b@ 1840 in Bradford and his wife,
HANNAH FRANCE b @ 1840.
Their son, FRANK, was my great grandfather. Hannah is buried with her son in Central Falls, RI.
Thanks in advance, and I hope someone will be kind enough to help me search for these people and their ancestors.
Sincerely,
Beverly

Hi there
This looks like your John & Hannah - but no Frank, but not knowing when he was born does not help.
Can you provide a few more details in your requests, like how old people were, when they emigrated to RI etc.

I am not sure exactlly when Frank and his mother, along with his wife, Sarah, and his family eimgrated to Rhode Island, but would assume it was most likely in the early 1900's. My maternal grandmother, Doris, had just turned 5-6 and she was born in 1898. They arrived in Sanford, Maine and did not go through Ellis Island. This family came to the USA to find work in the woolen mills; which eventually they did in Greystone, North Providence, Rhode Island. Many of the people who lived in Greystone were originally from Bradford.

Hi Beverly,
I found this family group in the 1880 Census of Rhode Island (living in Lincoln, RI, next town up from North Providence wherein can be found Greystone village). I live in the neighboring village to Greystone, and wondered if this might be the family you're seeking. Lincoln is next door to Central Falls, RI.

You mentioned Frank was your ancestor, yet he died single This doesn't seem to be the correct family but they were only Redmans I could find in Central Falls, RI fitting the description you gave in your primary post. I don't know how Sanford, Maine comes into play, but perhaps they came through New Brunswick to the USA? The family did live in New Jersey and New York (where their children were born) before coming to Rhode Island. Hope some of this helps.

denby,
It states that Beverley's email is no longer working and she has not been active on the site since 2007, so unlikely to see your response.
But it is probably very helpful for future researchers, if not Beverley herself.
