Title: Patric(k) GUERIN from DERRYMORE
Post by: Karanest on Monday 16 July 12 14:13 BST (UK)
I have an ancestor, Patric(k) GUERIN, who lived in Northallerton, Yorkshire from circa 1861 until his death in 1867. His father was also Patric, as shown on his 1861 marriage certificate (All Saints Church, Northallerton). The 1861 census showed his birthplace as "Derrymore, Ireland". Later censuses just say "Ireland".
We believe that there are "Derrymore" in Antrim, Armagh and Kerry. We have no idea which one we need to check to find Patrick's ancestry. Can anyone help us with this, please? Any suggestions or information will be much appreciated.

(I am posting this message on the Antrim, Armagh and Kerry message boards)

There are at least 18 townlands called 'Derrymore' in various counties in Ireland, also places like Derrymore East (2), Derrymore Island and Derrymore West (2). See http://www.thecore.com/seanruad to find townlands in Ireland.

As I said, duplicate topics cause confusion- and also extra work for those trying to help (you were already given the SeanRuad link in Feb.2010) so I'll lock this new topic and any further posts can go on the earlier one.
