Title: Teacher salary early 1900
Post by: Gwenn02 on Monday 16 July 12 01:08 BST (UK)
I am looking where to find an official record of posting of teacher salary for 1900 period.

Is regional Education Boards got some official documentation ?

Thanks in advance for any information

:-)

Thanks a lot Althea ...

I will have a look

I am trying to retrieve the professional parcours of my husband grandmother who was teacher. There is discrepancy in the accounts from living relatives.

Do you want to post the name or pm
and I will check the Teachers CD from the Gazettes

also some names are recorded in the AJHRS listed above

try surname, initial if you get no results from full name in your search

March 11 1914 NZ Gazette
Examination centre Invercargill Passed Class D
(There are four classes A, B, C, D

Register details in NZ Gazettes:
June 29 1917 Certificate D, Consecutive number on grading list 95, Public School
June 21 1918 Certificate D, Consecutive number on grading list 94, Public School
April 22 1919 Certificate D, Consecutive number on grading list 88, Public School

Do you have  a big library nearby, you can search NZ Gazettes and look at the register each year
The Treasury in Thames has a fairly full set, ??Auckland library does and other main centres
So that you can fill the gaps..maybe later years give more info

No grade for 1910-11 .. I guess she didn't have her certification yet !!? (cf post above re - 1914 exam)

How come there is no information for the school in between ??? (there is some in other official sources ???) because it was not Southland ???

Greenvale it's Otago no ???

What are the comments for Eastern Bush ???

Thanks a lot anyway :-)

Her first child was born in 1921 .. and subsequent 1922 and 1927 .. therefore she stopped working as teacher and work at the farm of her husband Norman Moffat and raised her children
