Title: Dublin marriage
Post by: tim604 on Thursday 12 July 12 19:49 BST (UK)
Hi I'm new to this but could anyone tell me where I could locate Marriage records for SS. Michael & John church Dublin?

I have been to the Irish Genealogy site but the details I require are incomplete.

Marriage of John Farrell to Anne Devine 01/05/1853

Unfortunately, I think the information in the irishgenealogy record may be all there is.  Many church marriage records show only the couple and the witnesses.  You could look up the microfilm of the SS Michael's & John's records in the National Library to double check if you are in Dublin.

I would agree ...the details included on this marriage transcript are as expected for an RC marriage for this timeframe. If you check other RC marriage records for Dublin city you will see similar details recorded.

e.g. here's an example of a marriage in another Dublin City RC parish (St. Mary's) from the same month & year where the register image is available : link (http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/ab3db70053488)

Hi,

It's worth a try, but inputting the surnames with a variety of misspellings may result with some success. On the IG site, I really found this to be true, to the point of great success.

Good luck!

Cheers,
