Looking for any information on Charles W Simmonds born in Tewkesbury in 1872
Father was William Albert & Mother Ann Sallis.
Please any information would be great

As Simmons in 1881 census Mill Bank Tewkesbury
William A 46 painter bn Tewkesbury, Annie 34 bn Forthampton, Charles W 10, Thomas W 8, Catherine E 3, Walter A 1yr.
Haven't had time to find Chas in 1891 but did find mother Anne Simmonds widow 44 laundress with Katherine & Walter living in some courts in Tewkesbury.

Think I found him in 1881 but tina has beaten me to it  ;D

1891 possibly lodging with Jenkins family in Wales coal miner.

Married to Comfort 29 - what a lovely name - and daughter Mary Jane 9 months.
Tin plate roller in Staffs.

Marriage Sep 1897 Wolverhampton dist.  Comfort Southall.
Comfort born Mar 1872 Dudley dist.

They have subsequent daughters Doris Maud and Nora Gertrude.

Charles dies 8 July 1945 Brierley Hill Staffs.

Comfort dies 1 Feb 1948 Brierley Hill Staffs.  Added info mentions Mary Jane Cartwright wife of Edward Leonard Cartwright so now you know who their daughter married  :)

Having trouble finding Charles in 1891. The only one born Gloucestershire and also in Tewksbury is living in Eirw Llantrisant Glamorganshire with the Jenkins family but he is Charles Simons age 20 a coal miner. RG12/4419/89/42

Don't think this one is yours even though he is Charles William Simmonds  on other censuses.

Here is Ann is 1871 and with a son who wasn't at home in 1861. I wonder who are the parents of Elizabeth? So Ann, Amelia and James have all left home

William Simmonds married Annie Sallis in 1871 at Tewkesbury Register Office

In 1871 they were living at 22 Gravel Walk Tewkesbury he was age 33 and a signal painter with Midland Railway - wife Annie age 24 born Forthampton

In 1881 they are at Mill Bank - he is now listed as a painter and age 46 and they have their 4 children all born Tewkesbury

William Albert Simmons was buried in Tewkesbury Cemetery 15th September 1881 age 45 - grave Ref 2525

In 1891 Ann - now a widow age 44 is a laundress living in Mayall Court with daughter Katherine age 13 and son Walter age 11

I have William Albert's father as William Simmonds, d 1898 in Tewkesbury, married 12 May 1834 in Forthampton, Glos to Phoebe Sallis b abt 1814, her father was John Sallis b act 1769 also in Forthampton, and his father was Benjamin Sallis.  The Sallises get a bit interesting as William Albert's mother, Phoebe, was sister to William Albert's wife's (Annie) father - making William Albert and Annie cousins.  Hope this is of interest.
