My gt gt grandfather was Mark Jennings and family lore is that he left Ipswich as a boy by stowing away on board a ship. His father, by my records, was also Mark Jennings. I don't have a birth date for Mark Jr., and no dates for Mark Sr., nor do I have a spouse for Mark Sr. Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Paul,
Welcome to RootsChat. If anybody on the site would like to help you with your data enquiry you MUST give some indication of dates.

Oops. I don't have any dates for Mark Sr., but I have a death date for Mark Jr. of 1851 in Nova Scotia. His wife was Nancy Mason, born 1804. My guess would be Mark Sr., would be born in or around 1775, but I'm really just guessing.

Hi Paul, I was wondering if you are a member of ancestry.com, I only have UK membership, so can't access full records from the .com site, however by doing a basic search on their public trees I found that there are a number of people listing a Mark Jennings born 1795 married to Nancy Anne Mason or Anne Mason in Novia Scotia, there are also fishing pictures attached to some of the trees and it appears this particular Mark Jennings was a fisherman. Unfortunately none of them are listing parents but they may have a little more information to help us, to help you in your quest.
Best Wishes
Angela
PS Some of the above trees are also showing a Mark Jennings born 1776 married to a Ann Mason although the tree holders have not linked the 2, it could possibly be Mark Sr., or of course none of this relates to you :-\
