Need help please with Thomas MASON (farmer) b:c1735 in Northumberland - d: 30 May 1782 Donkins Houses, Newburn North Thumberland. Who did he marry please & when & where?
Have two of his sons (1) George Mason b: c1766 Newburn d: 04 Mar 1851 Newburn - he married Sarah Gleason don't know anymore about Sarah. Son (2) Thomas Mason b: c1770.
Thomas snr's two sons and 10 grandchildren were apparently all born at Donkins Houses.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.....

Hi Tiffaney,
Thomas MASON born c.1735 was buried at St Michael & All Angels, Newburn May 30th, 1782 and would have died at an earlier date.

Thankyou for your reply Victor and telling me I have Thomas's burial date not death date.
Have you ever heard of "Donkins Houses" in Newburn please.?

Sorry, I can't help you out with the local knowledge.

Donkin's Houses were in South Dissington, which was one of the Townships comprising Newburn Parish (which at that time was extremely large) http://www.genuki.bpears.org.uk/NBL/Newburn/index.html

As you can see it its some way from present-day Newburn, in fact it's just to the west of Ponteland and Darras Hall (where the footballers live in their multi-million pound houses ;D )
