hi everyone, i looking for any info on the death of jane isabella richards. freebmd has northumberland s. 10b-385 dec 1945, age 56. i have found jane isabella aitchison c1887 northumberland, married to ernest ridsdale coward in 1907.they are living in porstmouth 1911 census, jane has remarried in 1921 to alfred t b richards, sorry to say alfred died in 1930 hamshire.cant see any children born between them years. it looks like jane returned to northumberland to live. if the bmd are right. any info on jane would be great. her mother and father are " fredrick and anne m aitchison". many thanks for you help, regards william.

I see Freebmd shows both her maiden name and previous married name which is useful
If you are wanting info from her death cert - you would have to buy a copy as members of the public do not have access to that info
I can't see any Coward births with mmn Aitchison but maiden names were only shown on entries from the September qtr 1911

hello caroleW, thanks for your relpy,i knew it would be a hard search not having a full date. was hoping may be a death notice from a family member of aitchison to link them together. iam sure jane is the person i have, cant see any other j i richards death. again many thanks. regards william.

hi radcliff, wow! thats just great, thank you very much for your help, i now can link jane to the rest of her family.ernest ridsdale coward was born in n s wales and was in the royal navy. he remarried in 1924 ,jane married 1921 but her husband passed away in 1930. as far as the money goes i dont know where it came from, cant see it coming from ernest. have not looked into the richards side as i never found any children on free bmd. going by the age of olive may in 1943 "47"idont think she married.again many thanks for all your help. regards william

Today I had a date with the Evening Chronicle Death Notices, so looked to see if any mention of death/burial of Jane Isabella Richards.
Looked at editions from/including 11th Nov 1943 to Sat, 20th Nov, without seeing a single Richards death !
Leamington about 3-4 miles west of Newcastle city centre.
Monkseaton about 8-9 miles north-east of Newcastle city centre.

,for what its worth my thoughts are that this lady had at least one daughter,
unless of course she had a neice that moved from Portsmouth and married in Gateshead
I tried looking up Francis Creigh and I didnt get very far,two possible births in Durham .

hello michael,radcliff.hi michael hope your keeping well, glad to see your still looking up them old newpapers. was over in belfast last month checking the belfast telegraph, not much luck. thanks for both reply`s, jane and ernest had a child in 1908 but died in 1909, they where living in portsmouth but cant see any thing on freebmd. thought if jane married 1921 may be seeing 2nd husband before 1921,still no luck there. came across elizabeth richards 1924 woolwich. elizabeth richards 1922 hartley wintney, hampshire. might even be a neice as you say radcliff. thanks for all your input moving a step at a time. regards william.

Not wishing you to spend or waste money,but dont you think that the marriage certificate for Elizabeth and Francis ,would be worth the money to solve this one little brick wall.

Hi Everyone, My name is Darren, I am the grandson of Elizabeth Rita Creigh( Richards ). ERC was adopted by Jane Isabelle in 1936, aged 13 years, 6 years after Alfred T B Richards died. Jane Isabelle was married to Ernest Ridsdale Coward only for a few years in Portsmouth Hampshire, He then went on to marry Lizzie Anetta Jones, He joined the Navy, and later reenlisted, so 2 times. Alfred Thomas Barrow(not Barron) Richrds was a ship Broker also in Portsmouth. ATBR and JIC did not have any children, but resided in Portsmouth with links to Gateshead Newcastle, ERC also has moved between Gateshead and Portsmouth. We believe that ATBR was the natural father. We have what we think is a birth certificate for Elizabeth Rita creigh........ Born 20/02/1923 Rita Rose Parker. mothers maiden name Parker, so unmarried, the address on the birth certificate shows she was born in a home for unmarried mothers in Edgbaston Birmingham, there the trail goes cold unfortunately!
I forgot to mention that ERC was taken in by Alfred and Jane Isabella whenshe was around 3-4 years old. Then lived in Portsmouth.

Thanks for your message about Jane Isabella Richards nee Coward, Aitchison.
I’am trying to link to family members with Jane Isabella c1887 is as follows.
Her father was Frederick c1862 & Anne Mary Davison c1866
Brother to Elizabeth Aitchison c1843 who married Gibson Rankin in 1866
in Belford. Moving to live in Newcastle where a daughter got married in 1898.
The family moved to live in Belfast and my Grandmother was born 1899
but was baptised in St Nicholas Cathedral.
Any information you can help would be appreciated.
