HI!
Can anyone help? I am seeking info on James Johnson and wife Nancy?
who ran "The Volunteer" public house in Chapel en le Frith Derbyshire around 1815-1817 when daughters Sarah and Mary were born.
A marriage DATE AND LOCATION for James and Nancy would be great.
Thanks

Hi! Sunflower
I do not have any census info.or Marriage info.
All i do know is that James and Nancy's daughter Sarah married a William Hughes on 11/12/1836 at Taxal Parish Church which i understand is in Cheshire.

Hi,
Chapel en le Frith - Christenings:-
Sarah Johnson 14.5.1814 Father - James Mother - Nancy
Mary " 10.8.1817 " "
1841 Census HO 107/115 Pg 1
Yeardsley cum Whaley, Taxall Parish
Whaley Bridge
Johnson James 60 Publican born Cheshire
" Ann 50 "
" Mary 20 NOT born Cheshire
" Isabella 5 " "
Note in this Census Adult ages have been rounded down by up to 4 years.
There are a lot of Johnson christenings in Cheshire to a James & Ann/Nancy but could be your James & Ann/Nancy. Occupation is correct and he has Mary his unmarried daughter living with him.
Needs a lot more research, but try searching:-
