Title: The Green Cashel Urban 1908
Post by: mursley on Monday 09 July 12 12:52 BST (UK)
Does anyone know where in  Cashel, The Green, Cashel Urban used to be?  My father was born there in 1908.  On the 1911 Census his address was 2 in the Green (Cashel Urban, Tipperary).

The Green, or just Green, is the name of a townland of 19 acres just south of the centre of Cashel town. It's now part of the town and there's a street running through the area named 'The Green'.

In this case the number on the census transcript is an enumerators reference, rather than an address.

Google Maps is a useful indicator although not to be taken as gospel. This address in Cashel town includes Clonoulty, a village several miles away
