Title: Turner Family
Post by: The-Game on Sunday 08 July 12 06:49 BST (UK)
I'm also trying to find out about the Turner Family, dad's mother's side was the Pullen side which I'm grateful for all the info. But dad's father's side is the big mystery. My grandfather was Athol Amos Turner (born 1941-2008), his father was a Edward Amos Turner (Born 1903 in Picton NSW -1950 Lismore NSW). His parents were Samuel Turner and Mary Jane Turner (Born Bateup) though we can't find there dates of birth nor any more information on the side of the family. My great Uncle has been through records and things and can't find anything past Samuel and Mary. It's always been wondered where their dark skin came from.

Thanks everyone, the biggest trouble we're having is finding the direct male line for the turners, mary jane turner (bateup) who married samuel turner, we can't find his parents after that nor any Turner history, as far as we know the turner's possibly also came from England.

I've been doing some more research on Samuel Turner, and found a paper cutting say he was a keen member of the
Channon Lodge of the P.A.F.S., of
which he was an officer.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the P.A.F.S stands for? Spent forever searching and can't find nothing except they use to hold the annaul P.A.F.S ball at the Channon Lodge. any info would be great thanks,
