Hi I wonder if anyone can help me please I have a photograph of a soldier the regiment is the 11th foot Royal Devonshire and his service number is 5613938,I think the date is around 1920 to 1925.thanks for any help

do we take it you have no name or place and date of birth for him and if his service finished after i believe 1921 his record will still be with the mod .

I think I have a name of Drm L Humphrey born horne,surrey but thats not confirmed.

still not much definite info to work with really can you scan the photo and post it up here it may help sort the time period a bit more .

As already mentioned he looks like a Devonshire Regiment soldier in the twenties...If post 22 service the MOD will have his record still.
You will have to apply and it costs £30 and a long wait or you could try under the Freedom Of Information Act and see what you get
Forms are on Veterans Agency website.
I think rank is Drummer.

You also need to supply a copy of his death certificate, if he did not die while serving. If his widow is still alive it is free.
