I am researching a line of Gambons from Canty nr Whitechurch and am wondering if anyone has any info about them. I know there were a lot of Gambons in that area in the 19th century but the ones in question are Edmond Gambon, who married Margaret Flynn on June 19th 1864 in the Chapel in Aglish, and his father Maurice. I don't have a birth or death date for Maurice but I think Edmond was born circa 1836 and died in 1924. I can't find any more info about them in the 'usual' places. I do know they were both labourers.
If anyone has any info about Margaret and her father Michael Flynn that would be good too. She was born circa 1830.

In 1911 census, Edmond & Margaret are married 46yrs, 3 children born & 1 living.
There are following death records:
Catherine Gambon b. 1867, d. 1873 age 6 Reg District Dungarvan
Vol 4 Page 568
Mary Gambon b. 1865. d. 1865. Reg Dist Dungarvan. Vol 19 Page 397
So it looks as if the only surviving child of Edmond & Margaret was Michael.
Do you have information on Michael? Regards3 children born to edmond gambon & margaret Flynn

I knew Maurice Gambon, he was a friend of my fathers. I do not think that he married, so perhaps he was the last of the Gambons from Whitechurch. Gambon's also had a blacksmith's forge there.
