Hi,
I have found a Chelsea Pensioner W097 record for Edward Munns born 1807 in Ireland.
Can anyone advise how somebody became a Chelsea Pensioner or any other information that is shown in the records would be much appreciated.
Regards
Kate

Dear Jebber,
Thank you so much for your speedy response.
What a wealth of information is contained in that record. It shows that he was underage when he enlisted - I think he was born in 1807 so he would have been 17. Do you know if the required age was 18 and if it was common for men to enlist below the required age. Also you say he was old & worn out when he was discharged but he would only have been aged 39 so I guess it must have been quite a hard life.
Many thanks for all your help, it is very much appreciated.
Regards Kate
