I am interested in finding information on Theobald Bourke, a grocer in Dublin. I believe he died about 1773. He appears in the Index Prerogative Wills of Ireland, 1536-1810. The index shows 1773 as a date related to the Will, but I am not sure that means he died in 1773.
If anyone knows of the name or knows how to get access to the will, please let me know.

Hi,
I can't help you with the will but have you searched on irishgenealogy.ie.
Marriage of Theo Burke & Sarah Brady 1714 St Andrew (CoI) no other details recorded.
Marriage of Theo Burke & Alice Kelly 1767 St Catherine (RC) followed by Baptisim of Thomas Burke 1769 St Catherine parents Theo & Alice Burke/Kelly.
Then in 1770 Baptism of Theo Bourk St Michans (RC) parents Theo & Alice Bourk, mothers maiden name N/r but witness is Kelly, then in 1772 Baptism of Margaret Bourke St Michan Theo & Alice Bourke with witness Kelly.
After 1772 all Theo B*urk*s are witnesses to Baptisms and Marriages but you cant tell which Theo either Father or Son.
The only other one was on familysearch Baptism of Walter Bourke St Peter & St Paul Dublin 1727 parents Theo Bourke &Catherine N/r.

You could try the National Archives to see if a copy of the will has survived. There is an index in the Reading Room you can consult. The probability is, however, that all that survives is the reference you found. Another possibility is the Registry of Deeds which might have a record of any property transfer after Theobald Bourke's death. Again, it's a bit of a lottery but staff there are very helpful.
Good luck with the search.
