William Wint b.<1827> Wetton. Reputed father (according to marriage certificate) John Robinson. I think birth would have been registered under mother's maiden name. Can anyone help?

Thank you Bryt, but I am afraid it is the wrong one.
I have put together most of the Wint families in this area - hoping to find William's mother working for a John Robinson or a grandmother looking after William, possibly on the 1841 census, when William would be about 13, he always claims that his birth place is Wetton, but who knows?
-
Hi Skylark,
I think this will help you
William Wint son of Ellen Wint and John Robinson chr on the 9 August 1826 in St Margarets Church, Wetton, Staffordshire.
I think Johns occupation was a weaver but its a bit hard to read.
Hope this helps.
all the best Angela.

Oh Alf,
You have been busy. I presume these are all meant for me as they have all my family names in it... I think you are wonderful. I am extremely grateful
Except this isn't my posting I was only answering Skylarks query over his Wint family from Wetton !
Thanks anyway you are a true star.
Angela.

YES
Not sure who was looking these names

You are still wonderful for going to all this trouble I am extremely grateful.
Do you have any MI's for Wetton?? Desperately looking for clues on my Allcock family from there. especially Thomas Allcock who was buried 2 Aug 1838 his wife married again but she is supposedly buried with him (I think she was buried in 1867) but under the Allcock name.
Any Allcock/Alcock buried in Wetton would be great. Their daughter Hannah is buried their but I don't think there is a headstone for her. She died in 1866 and could be under her married name of Grindy/Grundy.
Thanks for everything. I am busy sorting through all the wonderful names you have forwarded on to me.
Thanks a million alf
All the best Angela.

Yes and I missed this one for you.
Where did your Alcock family originate from?

Dear Angela, I have an ancestor Sarah Ann Wint born 24 December 1852, Wetton. Her parents were William Wint and Mary Wint, formerly Redfern. William was a labourer. Sarah Ann married Joseph Bestwick born Sheen. They married in Sheffield. After looking at an extensive family tree for Redferns of Wetton I have concluded that the most likely Mary Redfern was born on 15th March 1812, in Wetton, daughter of Thomas and Mary Redfern. I am hoping that the records you have access to might allow you to tell me if I am heading in the right direction. Regards Peter.
-
Hi Peter,
I have sent you a personal message ok.
All the best Angela.

We must be related somehow then. I have ancestors who are WINTs from Wetton. I don't recognize those names for sure; but I don't have all of my info here either. Do you know if you have a Francis WINT who married a Phoebe MOSS in your line somewhere (around 1857?
