Post by: Aussie Chris on Sunday 01 July 12 12:12 BST (UK)
This is a page scanned from the PAHL family history compiled in 1980. Carl Friedrich PAHL was born Oct 10 1826 Zellerfeld,Prussia.Caroline Wilhelmine POLLE born May 29 1826 Lauthenthal,Prussia. This is directly related to my previous post in that they are brothers-inlaw of Duncan McCALLUM.To my knowledge ,no more information has been found. Chris.

Yes, I too thinks it's Robert as he was 56yo in 1919 when the crime was commited, 57yo when sentenced & sent to gaol = birth of 1863.

Many reports in the newpapers & the archives etc.

He died in 1931 & the newspaper story confirms that he was from SA:

This George Lewis/Louis PAHL lived in the same area and was 75 when he died in 1934 so ba 1859.
