Reid - William George born 1869 in Tranent, East Lothian. Emigrated to Australia before 1896 but may have been alone or with siblings as I can find no record of his parents here in Newcastle. Parents David Thompson Reid and Catherine Hogg.
I can find no records of assisted immigration into Newcastle or Sydney. ???

There are many Reids on the Unassisted Melbourne list (also probably Reeds - but I didn't check same). I have found many of my NSW & Qld immigrants on the Melbourne list, so it is worth checking them as well.
