Charlene is another member of the Ramsay/Shearer family tree. A great great grand daughter of William Burke Ramsay b. 1795 in Kentucky and William Shearer b.1794 in Ireland. She was born in Iowa on the 10 Jul 1933 and died in San Diego California on the 12 or 15 Nov 1997. She may have been married to a Gerald Rex Stephen Private before Mr. Mcgriff. I cannot find any record of her marriage(s) or children if any. Is there any kind soul out there who could help me with this?

This looks like her headstone:

Good Evening Priscilla and Sandra,
Thank you for your help with this. I am relatively new to this form of enquiry and wonder how I can see Mr. Mcgriff's family tree. Will it be possible to get in touch with him through posting here. Thank you for the photographs. I am a little intrigued by the masonic connection. Still I await whatever you advise. It strikes me that Charlene's dad might be a 1st cousin of Augustus E Lyon from one of my previous posts.

Hello Sandra,
I am due to go out but before I go I see another message.
I can only say I am puzzled by the the surname of Gerald Rex. Is it Stephen or Private? Can you see something that makes a connection?
Can I peruse what you are looking at? Thank you once again.

To be honest, I presumed your information was from someones family tree entry, where "Private" is often used but in this case they had also added the name before the word "Private" ???
Just as in my reply 2 (on the ancestry subscription site), the one I viewed was "Richard Patrick McGriff" and "Private" where no spouse's name was given.
If you have a subscription to ancestry you should be able to view and contact the owner of the tree. If not, try the sister site www.mundia.com, sign up for free and that should give you the option to view and contact whilst in the beta stage.

Sandra,
Thank you for your help and advise about Mundia.com. I now realise I have been barking up the wrong tree. I was mislaid by a mixed up LDS entry. Probably the result of more than one Charlene. Your info about Gerald R Stephen is on the right track and after persuing that line I found links to the tree I have collated. I have sent messages but as yet I have received no replies from the families directly. Do you happen to know are the trees on Mundia put there by family members or by people researching on their behalf?

More than likely personal family trees - not everyone tends to respond when they get an enquiry though - fingers crossed someone will reply to you. ???

Sandra,
Thanks again. You can see I am hoping to contact relatives of Charlene Edna Stephen same dates and forebears but Stephen now instead of Mcgriff. It could be they have not been doing anything about their family tree for some time. I might get a reply whenever they return to it.
I have been unable to open the content of your latest post. Whenever I try it says an error has occurred.

The error is because the link was to your other thread and I merged the two threads. It's easier to keep everything in one place, so people don't duplicate what has already been found.
