Could anyone help me trying to find out if Margaret Walker husband really came from Germany.

I wonder if the clue might be in the 1911 :
Hi is it Possible if you could find Frederick William Snrs Parents and Birth
Although the 1901 census states that he was born in Middlesbrough, Frederick may have been born in Germany. If you check the free index on the 1911, it might give you a clue. Here's some tips if you don't have access :

a couple members of our family said he was from Germany a sailor, and interpreter in 1914
on English side.

My apologies - it was his father who claimed he was born in Germany.
Just a thought - it might be worth trying to contact the originator of the above thread.

Fredrick Hesse senior was from Germany, ( Fred and George father)
his Marriage was 1891 to Elizabeth Jones born boro in 1857
Census 1901 and 1911 all children were born in M,boro uk
only Fredrick Hesse senior was from Germany.
( if you don't know, George Philip Hesse ww1 service record is on Ancestry )
