H all
On behalf of my father in law I wondered if anyone could help with a baptism of his great grandfather Edward Banning Parker c.1854 in Stratford on Avon? The family are a messy one and it appears the parents married when the children were grown!! We can't find a birth certificate and as we all know, it's nice to locate the hatching, matching and dispatching to begin with. :D. We think the parents are Henry and Mary Ann and the census' have advised place of birth as Stratford on Avon (the family were here in 1851).
Many thanks
Carolyn
PS Just in case anyone does notice, my father in law has put something else about this family on the general board, so yes ,we do know about each other 8)

As you know this family of hawkers were continually on the move & probably didn't bother too much getting births registered.
There is what looks like a birth for sibling William in S-on-A; Dec.1850/S-on-A/6d/553 if you want to verify parents names.
If you just want a keepsake I think your out of luck with this one.
There may be a baptismal record but you would have to search the S-on-A Parishes to find it.

Hi Jim
Just as well I mentioned I was John's daughter in law!! We have actually ordered the certificate for William but wondered if it was worth looking for Edward since he's the direct line. I like to check under all stones. :) Are there a lot of parishes in S on A???
Cheers

Not many Parishes at this time.I've found a baptism for William at Holy Trinity on 17/11/1850.
There's also Sarah Parker at the same church ch.26/3/1853,same parents, she must have died as there no sign of her.
They may have moved just after Edwards birth & either wasn't christened or he was done somewhere else.
