Does any one know how I can look at a passenger list for SS noorland( for free) which sailed from Liverpool to Philadelphia in November 1906 - my ancestor William McCormick from St. Helens, Lancashire was on this ship...

Can you get to a Liverpool library? Find My Past and Ancestry are available free at some Liverpool libraries. FindMyPast have a William McCormack born about 1875 going to Phil. USA in 1906. Family Search have free passenger lists but you have to browse through them to find what you want:-

Found the following, SS Noordland,,,,,,,left Liverpool on 14 Nov 1906 bound for Philadelphia,US.
American Line, 601 passengers on board.
Please note the spelling of ship.
Passenger, William McCormack,age 31,Joiner, Single. No address given.

Brionne, I was confused with the spelling of the ship, have seen it different ways...but think that Noordland is probably correct, where did you find this information from?
Blue, Yes I can get to a Liverpool library (or St. Helens might have) to view Find my past and ancestry. and thanks for Family search tip I'll have a look at that
Radcliff, thanks , this is definitely the right man and now I wonder who Joseph Brooks is...(maybe a sponsor previously from St. Helens - another line of search)
Am grateful to all, can always rely on this web site for good information.
William has been a puzzle for ages and the immigration find is a great breakthrough , more so because several years later another McCormick (who we knew about) had settled in Camden, New Jersey. As a 17 year from St. Helens with a brother in Canada it was wondered why he had gone to Camden....finding William (his uncle) already residing there is another piece of the puzzle.
Another favour if possible!!!! Has any one access to 1910 US census for William and Ellen McCormick living in Camden Ward 10, New Jersey....have some information from census but the last column shows whether blind or deaf....and I'm wondering if William is classified as blind as info from his draft registration documents show him a blind in both eyes.....or if he received injuries in WW1.

To all, have found the original ships manifest on Family search....thanks to all. Found Joseph Brooks was a brother in law who emigrated 14 years previous...more searching
Also found census info on FS which I didn't realise they had...

I don't know if you got an answer to this question, but the census does say that he was blind. I don't think I've ever looked that far over on the census, because they usually only seem to have random codes from the census taker. I keep learning new things - I'll have to double-check my people sometime.
In case you didn't see it already on www.familysearch.org, the family is in Camden through the 1930 Census. The 1940 census for New Jersey isn't fully indexed yet, but hopefully it will be before too long. You can also search through it by page here: http://1940census.archives.gov/ A 1940 Camden city directory lists Ellen M. McCormick as the widow of William. She was residing at 6317 Grant av., Pennsauken Township along with Elizabeth E., Helen R., and Wm. A. McCormick.

Thanks - I had seen he was blind on the 1910 census , this is the only census which gives this info on so not able to see how long he had this condition...|I have his WW1 draft registration for WW1 which states in 1918 he was blind in both eyes... he immigrated in 1906 and no mention of being blind on ships manifest....thought he had received the injury in WW1 but then 1910 census scuppers that idea...on 1930 census said he was not a veteran.. I wonder if he had an accident between 1906 and 1910??/ his wife and six children immigrated to US a year later.
Have looked for them on 1940 census but as you say its not fully indexed...looking forward to that.
Interesting info from 1930 Camden index, I hadn't seen that and the childrens name all fit the family of William and Ellen - although she had never had a middle name M on anything else.. I do have one US Social Security Death Index for a possible lead but place of death I have not connected yet with family, but then Grant Avenue Pennsauken Township is new!!!
