Title: Leighton Park School
Post by: tilly25 on Thursday 21 June 12 09:51 BST (UK)
Hi
Does anyone know how to find out if someone attended this school, I sent an email to the Old Leighton School members last year and received no response. Also looked at the library at Reading on line to see if they hold school registers, but can't see anything listed there  Any ideas would be gratefully received

It's a private/fee-paying school, so I doubt registers would be deposited.

Although my husband did play matches on their cricket field (they hired out to the hoi polloi at the weekends).
Did you try the school office(s) directly?

Pauline

It is well worth approaching the school directly.  Some private schools have a history club which might be very keen on finding out about your ancestor.  I have friend who approached another school and its history club produced a four page document about the history of his ancestor while at the school.

The time frame would be 1905-1918. I will try the school direct and see what happens

Hi
Berkshire Record office holds a lot of school ecords.
I have found lots with them, a phone call to them and they would tell you,
