Title: Spillett Family - Chartham Parish Records

??? Does anyone have baptism records for Chartham. Looking for a Spillett family c1857-c1876

John Edward Jun Qtr 1857
George Edwin Jun Qtr 1859
Willie Henry Sep Qtr 1864
Mary J.B. Dec Qtr 1866
Edith Eliza Dec Qtr 1869
Edgar Sep Qtr 1871
Frederic Jun Qtr 1875
And two more (That could have died between census dates)

Parents - George Spillett & Harriett Jarvis

According to 1911 census they had 9 born.

Can't find any published baptism records on line to cover those dates.

Any help, no matter how small, greatly appreciated. Thanks   :)

In the transcription that I have there are 6 baptisms for the family you describe and they are as follows:-

2 Aug 1857  John Edward s/o George & Harriett SPILLETT Rattington Street - Labourer
6 Nov 1859  George Edwin s/o George & Harriet SPILLETT Shalmsford St - Labourer
3 Feb 1867  Mary Jane Been d/o George & Harriet SPILLETT Shalmsford Street - Labourer
4 July 1869  Edith Ellen d/o George & Harriet SPILLET Shalmsford Street - Labourer
5 Nov 1871  Edgar s/o George & Harriet SPILLETT Shalmsford Street - Labourer
25 July 1875  Frederic s/o George & Harriet SPILLET Chartham - Labourer

Cannot find any others at the moment.  Will look at the burial register to see if there are any other posssible matches but unfortunately there are quite a few Spillett Families in Chartham.

Thanks for your prompt reply, really appreciated.

Well you came up with six out of my seven on census results. And Willie Henry was on census, so I think for sure, that two died between census dates. To make up the nine on 1911 census as being born.

The General Register Office (GRO) has the birth registration of -
Fanny Spillett, Mar Qtr 1863, reg dist Bridge, vol 2A, page 605 - mother's maiden name Jarvis

and the death registration of
Fanny Spillett, Sep Qtr1863, reg. dist. Bridge, vol 2A, page 362, age 0 yrs

Checking the GRO for birth registrations Spillett (including variables**) and mother Jarvis (including variables) in Bridge registration district, I could confirm the 7 baptisms posted by "redtonyt".

With Fanny this makes a total of 8 - couldn't find a ninth.

** eg. George Edwin was registered as Spillott.
