Anyone know anything re CATHERINE LINDSEY who married William Good of Ardaneen Unknown mar. date but she died 1847 at her brother's place HAYFIELD. Her brother was HENRY JOHN LINDSEY ESQUIRE. Is she connected to LINDSEYS of PEAKE and Monallig? Thank you for any help.

Hi Lorraine,
As far as I can remember I'm sure Catherine is related to the Lindsays of
Monallig/Peake. I did check that out for Joan a while ago.
I did find a death notice which is probably Catherine's mother or grandmother Mary who died at Ardnaneen ( correct spelling location near Lissarda and about five miles from Macroom and 12 from Aghabullogue)
"Cork Advertiser Sat 14 Nov 1818 on Wed at Ardnaneen at the advanced age of 95, Mary relict of Thomas Lindsay of Monallig in this co. Esq."
More than likely she was staying with Catherine Good nee Lindsay at the time of her
death.
Hope this helps

Thanks Mary. I have that death notice, I think Catherine Lindsey was granddaughter of my 3rd gt gfr Henry Lindsey. They were of Peakr and Monallig. Checking for another person. See Landed database under Lindsey Lorraine

This might help. Thomas Lindsey of Macroom and Monallig who married Mary Brown in 1746 had a daughter (undocumented to date in the Lindsey history) who married James Good of Ardaneneen (Tarelton) in 1774. Mary (Brown) Lindsey (1723-1818) died in her son in law James Good's house in 1818. Mary was buried in Moviddy with her husband. Amongst James Good and Mary Lindsey's children are Thomas Lindsey Good and William who married a Catherine Lindsey in 1827. James Good and Mary Lindsey had a number of other children and they all appeared to have died young and without male heirs as Ardaneneen (a very substantial property) was inherited by their daughter Mary Good Curtis who married Thomas Curtis in 1805. Mary (Good) Curtis and her husband Thomas are buried in Desertmore and amongst their children are James Good Curtis and Joseph Lindsey Curtis.
