Hi All
Does anybody know if the census substitute (1841/1851) pension records are available on-line for Dunfanaghy/Clondahorky parish.
I'm looking for an Isabela Ward from Knocknafaugher townland.
Thanks
M

Hi Mike. I don't remember seeing anything for an Isabella Ward, Knocknafaugher.
Isabella/Bella Ferry b. 1832/1833, married to Anton Ward b. abt. 1830 is on the 1901 and the 1911 Census for Knocknafaugher.
I don't know Bella's parents names but Anton's father was Brian/Barney Ward/McAward who was there in the Griffiths Valuation of about 1856.
How do you fit in to these Wards?
My father's sister was married to Barney Ward of this family.
Cheers, Henry

Hi Henry
We are probably related then (at least through marriage!).
Here is how I am related to these guys;
Me (1979) - mother (1946) - James McElhinney (1908) - Susan Ward (1875) - Anthony Ward (1826) & Isabella Ferry (1834).
So Anthony and Isabella are my great-great-grandparents.
I've been looking up the census returns and the civil registrations I can find but am stuck there.
It would be great if you had some more information on this family. I see that Ward is often written as McAward. I also saw Brian Ward on the Griffiths - do you mind me asking how you know he was Anthony's father? I also see a Cornelius Ward on the Griffiths and a few Ferrys.
Any info you have would be great - thanks for replying.
Regards
Mike
