This is your thread from Jan 2011 asking about Thomas and Evan.

Do you have Evan on any census records? Can you give us the RG, piece, folio and page references?

Do you have his marriage cert?

I looked up this family on the older post. Feel I should say that the 1841 census does not show relationships & it can be confusing to assume.

Thomas Bowen married Dinah Jones 8/6/1832 in Llanllwni, Carmarthenshire

http://www.freereg.org.uk/cgi/SearchResults.pl?RecordType=Marriages&RecordID=3253532

1851 census shows them in Llanybyther
Tanygraig HO107/2483 folio 66 pg 30
Thomas Bowen head mar 47 ag lab b. Llanllwni
Dinah wife 36 b. Llanllwni
Mary dau 23 b. Llanllwni
Rachel dau 14 b. Llanybyther
Susannah dau 10 b. Llanybyther
Thomas son 8 b. Llanybyther
William son 3 b. Llanybyther

1861 Tangraig Tavern, Llanybyther RG9/4816 folio 5 pg 4
Thomas Bowen head mar 56 publican b. Llanllwni
Dinah wife 46 b. Llanllwni
Susannah dau 20 b. Llanybyther
William son 10 b. Llanybyther

It looks like Thomas must have been married before and had Esther and Mary with his first wife. 1851 has 1851 with her grandfather & probably the father of the first wife

1851 Waunfawr, Llanllwni HO107/2483 folio 6 pg 4
Evan Williams head widower 79 retired farmer
Ester Bowen grand dau 21 general servant
both born Llanllwni

so possibly this is the earlier marriage

Evan's will is on the NLW website in 1853 & has grand daughters Mary & Esther Bowen among the legatees

There's a couple of possible wills on the NLW site for Bowen of Llanllwni. One from 1823, written in December 1822, for a Thomas Bowen of Waunceiloge names his wife as Esther and son Thomas who are to be executors, also children all under 21 - Rachel, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Mary, David and Evan, and brother David and brother-in-law James Jones.

Another will is that of Owen Bowen 1819 of Waunceiloge, written in 1818, that names sons Evan & Thomas. I'm not convinced that the Thomas who is the executor of Owen is then the testator of the 1823 will as there's no mention of David in that one.
But there is a baptism of a David to Owen & Elinor Bowen in Llanllwni in 1790.
