Hello, I have ancestors from Suffolk. I spent a wonderful day in the records office, but hadn't time to complete all my work!
My GT Gt Gt Grandparents were Robert Carter born 12 Feb 1787 in Timworth & Rachel Bantick, born 1786 in Stanton. Their 1st known child, my Gt Gt Grandfather William was born 13 Aug 1809.
Is it possible to find the for date for their wedding?
(I think Robert may have been a Church Warden as he was often a witness in St Andrew's Church, Timworth.)
Thank You!

Suffolk Marriage Index says they married in Timworth 6th November, 1808.

That's great. Thank you. Boy you were quick!

Can I ask a further favour?
IGI has Robert's father Robert (b 1764 in Ingham) married to Mary Hubbard ( b 1758 in Ingham) as marrying in 1790 & 1799. The 1st know child was Rose, born in 1780. Can you throw any light on their actual marriage.
My tree stops abruptly with Robert & Mary.
If you can take me any further back with either the Carter or Hubbard Tree, I'd be most grateful.

If Robert was born 12 Feb 1787 then how could his Parents have Married c 1790 or 1799?
Christenings I can find Father ROBERT, Mother MARY HUBBARD Carter or just Mary in Timworth;
ROSE, 05 March 1780
MARY 17 March 1781
ROBERT, 13 Feb 1787
HANNAH, 30 Dec 1789, Buried 03 Jan 1790
Marriage;
Mary HUBBARD
Robert CARTER
Both Single
08 November 1779, Ingham, Suffolk
(England Marriages on Familysearch.Org)
Looks to me that Robert c 1764 (must have been earlier to have Married 1779) was still alive in 1841;
1841 Census
Timworth, Suffolk
HO107/1036/21/Timworth
Robert CARTER, 80, Ag Lab, born in County

Suffolk Burial Index records these burials
Robert CARTER buried 11 Mar 1847 age 87 - Timworth, St Andrew - so born c1760
Mary CARTER buried 7 Apr 1841 age 86 - Timworth, St Andrew
Robert CARTER buried 19 Dec 1870 Age 83 - Timworth St Andrew
If this is your man then the dates would make sense of Trish's comments & make Robert more like 19/20 rather than 15/16 when he married Mary Hubbard.

A huge apology to you both. I was so busy copying these details and trying to make sense of them, that I completely overlooked posting you a thank you.
