Title: Richard Caldicott b1849 - Tysoe, Kenilworth
Post by: DevonKnill on Monday 11 June 12 17:01 BST (UK)
Hi
I'm searching for information on Richard Caldicott, born 1849, in Tysoe, Kenilworth. Richard was a coal merchant's labourer, who married Sarah Jenkins, a laundress, in 1868, in Warwick (District). In 1881, they were living in Castle End, Kenilworth, with their sons, Alfred Albert Caldicott (1877-), and Richard Henry Caldicott (c1873-). Any details relating to Richard, his parents, and ancestral line, etc., would be very helpful.
With thanks
DevonKnill

Many thanks, CaroleW and CatOne, for providing the information, which is most helpful. This led me to search through the historical records on FamilySearch, where I found the marriage of John Caldicott and Charlotte Jeffs, in 1843, in Tysoe.

Note that Tysoe and Kenilworth are two seperate places, both in Warwickshire but 24 miles apart.

Hi,

I don't look on these boards very often, came accross this thread this morning and see that I'm mentioned within replies!
I'm quite happy to share this perhaps via Ancestry where my tree is posted (user ID johnkathp) and perhaps via email following that if you wish.

Richard's brother Stephen is my wife's Gt Grandfather. His wife Sarah Jane Mann's 3x Gt Grandparents are actually my 6x Gt Grandparents making me also connected and indeed my wife also my 7th cousin, but not grounds for divorce!!

I look forward to hearing from you,
Regards
John

Hi John
Thank you for your reply and for posting the information. The "Perry family tree" information on Ancestry is very helpful, and I'd be interested to see any further details you may have on the family of John Caldicott and his wife, Charlotte Caldicott née Jeffs, and their ancestors.
Regards

Hi,
Thanks for quick reply.
Sharing by posting is the whole point for me, I'm glad you found it 'useful' and that you are interested in obtaining other details; what I have is posted nothing is kept seperately.
I did suggest that perhaps you might like to share information of your own, in the hope you might have a tree and details I have not as yet discovered. And I do wonder what your connection to them might be?
As you are aware of my tree might I ask that you contact me within the Ancestry Messages System, I am not inclined to publish my direct email address within this forum but shall from there.
Regarding John & Charlotte (jeffs), I have in the tree plenty, but have not visited their grave as yet in order to photograph it and others that are within the same location. I am compiling a list of those we wish to add and the locations where found, as we live locally.
I am aware of decendants from these lines to who are I understand living in Devon, Sally & David. Perhaps this is you?
I look forward to hearing from you,
R
John
