Title: Schools in Bensham
Post by: littlebootsy on Monday 11 June 12 15:42 BST (UK)
Sorry for all the questions today... I'm struggling to find the info I want on the internet, and I figured you would all be a much better source of information!

in the 1911 Census my Great grandfather was living at 83 Brighton Road, Bensham. He's 11 and down as being at school.

Does anyone have any idea what schools were around that area that he may have gone to?

There's a school directly opposite the house he lived in, but that opened in 1911, so I'm thinking it was unlikely he went there, but it could've been a posibility?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for everyone who's helped me so far :)

Hi

The school which stood opposite 83 Brighton Road was Brighton Avenue School which opened in 1895

Others nearby were Lady Vernon School on Derwentwater Road (opened in 1855) and Kelvin Grove School (opened in 1900)
