Is it possible that anyone can tell me where in Cork this location is...

Many Thanks

My first impression is that it starts with Bal- and ends with either -if or -ig.  -if and its variants -iv and -ive did not look fruitful, so I went with the -ig.

So my first guess is Ballincurrig.   Ballinvarrig might also conceivably be a possibility.

You can do the same search at http://www.thecore.com/seanruad  where you search for the first part, last part, or middle part of a place name!

This is possibly a misspelling. What are the name and dates that go along with this to give it some context? It looks to me something like Ballarny which could feasibly be Blarney.

Thank-you for the replies.

The information was from c1850 and is the only entry I have with a specific location of birth.

The family name is Cokeley / Cokely / Coakley

Specifically this person is Timothy Cokely born c1799, he moved to Rotherhithe, London between his birth and the 1841 census.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Mat
