I wondering if anyone has any knowledge, links or relationships with the Nicolson family from Olrig Parish in Caithness.
My connection is through my grandmother, Annie Duncan(nee Nicolson) (1895-1962). She married my granddad, William Stephen Duncan in 1932 and I believe they lived at Taymount Cottage in Castletown .
Any help or advice gratefully received.

Hi,
I recognize this family. Going back in time Annie’s family tree is as follows: -
Annie Nicolson (1894-1962)
James McBeath Nicolson (1858-1946) & Margaret Gunn Sinclair (1849-1928)
William Nicolson (1819-1904) & Isabella Nicol (1820-1890)
John Nicolson (1783-1860) & Anne Bruce (1777-1860)
William Nicolson (c1756- ????) & Esther Bruce
David Nicolson (c1725-1793) & Mary Coghill (1733-????)
I am a direct descendant of David & Mary, who are buried in Bower Cemetery. The inscription is “Over the dust of David Nicolson, farmer in Alterwall, Mary Coghill, his wife. This stone was erected by John Nicolson, their son 1820; In memory of John Nicolson, late farmer, Hollandmake, who departed this life Oct. 20 1846, aged 92 years; and his spouse, Elizabeth Gunn, who departed this life Sep .. 1825, aged 65 years”. John is my 4xgreat grandfather.
