Title: C17th - Bollington, Bosley, Gawsworth, Macclesfield and Rainow
Post by: mike1979 on Saturday 02 June 12 13:22 BST (UK)
Hi All
Does anybody have a shared interest in these areas in the C17th?
I'd like to share some information about farm holders in that area in the mid-C17th.  I cannot publish the map here as it is under copyright but it shows the area from Bollington in the NW to Harrop in the NE to Wildboarclough in the SE to Bosley in the SW.  IN the centre is Rainow, Sutton Common, Macclesfield Common etc.
Please let me know if you have any interests and the family or area name.
My research interests in the region are;
SHAW, GOODWIN, TRUEMAN, POTT
Other names on the map are;
SHRGLY, BROADHURST, HOLINSHEAD, SUTTON, HIGGINGBOTTOM, CLARK, MOORCROFT, SWINDELLS, ETC
Thanks - look forward to hopefully collaborating on this subject.
M

I am very interested in this area but I'm afraid I haven't got back as far as you and am still tracing Walkers, Warrens, Bowdens between 1740 and 1780, claytonbradley

Hi, I have various ancestors form the Bollington, Rainow, Pott Shrigley, Macclesfield area. The  main name being Bowden, as I haven't been able to get quite that far back yet with the others. Any info you have would be really interesting and may help bring them and the area to life a bit more.
Thanks Jan.
