Title: South Dakota 1890 census
Post by: Rossini on Friday 01 June 12 12:38 BST (UK)
Hello all,

Just a shot in the dark, but if anyone has access to the 1890 US Census, I'm trying to find details for Thomas Armstrong who I believe was living in or around the town of Hudson, South Dakota at that time.

He was born in England in 1867, was in Middlesbrough in 1881, but 'vanished' before he returned to England where he died in 1899.  Eventually traced the death notice in the local newspaper, which states he was 'late of Hudson, South Dakota'.

Any info much appreciated,

       Gordon.

Unfortunately, the 1890 census was almost entirely destroyed by fire.
