Title: Naval ship
Post by: denise67 on Friday 01 June 12 00:14 BST (UK)
Hi was wondering if anybody could please help. I have just found out that why my grandad was serving in North Africa his younger brother Percival J Bridges Leading cook (s) P/MX 58303 was injured in Egypt and spent time in a hospital out there. They then civilianized him and sent him to Durban South Africa to be sent home. He was put onto the SS Orcades which was hit by torpedo's. Sadly he was lost at sea if anyone could help me with any info would be very grateful.
Thanks Denise67
