Julie - it helps if you post what you think it says, particularly with names. You've probably got a much better idea of what they might be :)

I believe Oldkirk Parish in in the Granton Area of Edinburgh

Thank you all for your replies.
The name is Farquharson, though it looks a bit like it starts with an 'H'.
Am I right to assume indweller means resided there? It's a shame they didn't give the father's occupation as they went to the trouble of stating the witnesses'!
Cheers,
Julie

Yes a pity about the father's occupation not being listed.
Interestingly, scotlandspeople.gov.uk describes a 'Chairmaster' as.......
One who carries a sedan chair or oversees a fleet of chairs the fore runner of Taxi drivers I presume.
-
I did wonder about Farquharson, 'cos I've heard of that! But it looked more like an H than an F ::)

But it looked more like an H than an F ::)
It's actually ff which was how a capital F was written then :D
-
Its indexed as 'F' on Scotlandspeople.gov.uk...... together with two other children for this couple

You are welcome. I think this couple are fairly affluent, given the occupation of the witnesses. With a little effort I'm sure there will be more information on them to be found. Good luck with your search.
