I've started researching my ancestors quite recently, and am now totally committed ;).
So far I've worked my way back from my grandmother Alice Hobbs who was born in Corfe Castle, through Furmages, Stockleys and Vospers. If any members have any connections to these names or has any advice it would be great to hear from you.

Hello, and welcome to RootsChat!
A good way to make surname connections with other members is to enter your surname interests in the Surname Interests Table (SIT), and to check there whether others are researching these names.
This can be found at http://surname.rootschat.com/ , there is a link to it at the top of each Rootschat page.

The more people who enter their surnames, the more chance there will be of making a connection!

Hello and welcome!
If you include surname, date and location in your topic subject, it will be easier for folks researching / knowing about your needs to find you - it will also help you organise what you learn.
If you make 2 more posts you will be able to use the PM (Personal Messaging) system which will enable you to communicate off board.
Good luck with your research.

I am not sure how much of the following you already have, but here goes:-
Henry Furmage married Caroline Stockley on 7th August 1843. Henry's father is shown as Joseph whilst Caroline's father is shown as Richard. The witnessess were James and Mary Ann Stockley.
Henry was at times an agricultural labourer but mainly a clay cutter.
Your grandmother Ellen was baptised at Corfe Castle on 24th August 1862. Her siblings were baptised there as follows:-
Amelia Rebekah on 6Th August 1854
Caroline on 27th March 1864
Emma on 11th March 1846
Mary Elizabeth on 25th December 1860
William on 4th July 1847
Michael on 25th March 1849 and
Samuel on 19th January 1851
