Title: PARKVIEW, BINNIEHILL ROAD, SLAMANNAN
Post by: joejack101 on Monday 28 May 12 16:12 BST (UK)

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. My Great Great Grandmother died in April 1941 and her death occurred in Parkview, Binniehill Road in the district of Slamannan. Does anyone know of a Parkview - was it a home for the elderly or a private residence?
She lived in Glasgow most of her life and it seems odd that she ended up so far from her roots.
Her name was MARY ANN WILSON (NEE MCGUCKIAN).

Any help would be very gratefully received.

Thanks, Gerry.

Hi Gerry,

I'm not sure of why your GG Grandmother ended up in the village, but are you aware that there is still a property called ParkView within the Station area of Slamannan.

What age was she when she died?  Do you know of her occupation?

I will hopefully be going up that way over the next few days, will have a look for you to see if I can determine the house type.

Kind regards

Gillian

Hi Gillian, thanks for replying, my GG Grandmother was 81 when she died and her death was registered by her son E Wilson whose full name was Ezekiel Wilson. I wasn't aware of the fact that there is a property called Parkview.

Thanks again, Gerry.

Hi Gerry,

I haven;t been up yet, but a search on Google states there is a Parkview, Station Road, Slamannan. Binniehill is known locally as 'The Station'.
