Looking for parents of Lachlan McNEIL b.1774 d.21/01/1839. married Jane MARTIN Feb 1797.
With the help of a cousin (found here on Rootschat :)) Lachlan has been found in Lanark but I can't seem to locate his parents. DNA test show that this family of McNeils probably came from Barra but I can't seem to find that missing link  - we're still on the mainland! ???
 Does anyone have any suggestions?

Where did the info regarding his birth and death come from?

-
				Hi Sancti,
That info came from my cousin - (a far more experienced researcher than I am).
I'll check with her for the details.

				Hi Sancti,
More details are - OPR for Lachlan's death states 21/01/1839. Age was 65 years. calculating that his birth was approx 1774. Birth records for his children list his age appropriately and same occupation - Foreman Dyer. So we're reasonably certain that we have the correct records.

Which cemetery is he buried in?

Are there any other McNeils in the same cemetery?

				Hi Sancti,
I'm sorry, I don't know where he is buried (or anything else about him).

				Hi,

I am Milly Mac's cousin and I found the death of Lachlan - can't be absolutely sure it is the correct one.  I have just had another look at the entry on Scotlandspeople but it doesn't say where he is buried.  He is registered in the Parish of Glasgow 644/67 but it doesn't say which churchyard - is there any way I could find out. It looks like there is a lair number but no other info on the page.  His daughter in law is buried in St. Mungo's in 1844, unfortunately in common ground.  I have other posts on this site regarding the McNeill family.

I have not been able to find the death of Jane Martin his wife.  I did wonder if there would be burial records for the family.  Anyone have any ideas?
