Were there any half brothers or sisters of the Duke and who was his father?
I have seen letters referring to the father as "old JR"
I guess people living on estates would say they were related to xyz......

This is the sort of question for Google, you should find plenty of information that way.
I can say that there has been two first Dukes, the title became extinct and was recreated at a later date.

all the information is listed on wiki.

Better not to rely on wiki, it is one of those sites fed by the general public, with plenty of misinformation. Better to use wiki as a kicking off point, and then look for further afield for verified information.

From the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography
William Harry Vane, first duke of Cleveland (1766–1842) was the son of Henry Vane, second earl of Darlington (1726/7–1792) and Margaret (bap. 1733, d. 1800), daughter of Robert Lowther and sister of James Lowther, first earl of Lonsdale. The marriage produced three sons and three daughters

Elizabeth Russell was his mistress and he later married her. There were children but it is difficult to find the information......

"After his first wife's death in London in June 1807, Cleveland married as his second wife, Elizabeth Russell (c. 1777–1861), daughter of Robert Russell, on 27 July 1813. There were no children from this marriage. "

There was a clergyman claiming to be one of Elizabeth Russell's sons living in Devon, Dorset or Cornwall. But these links were removed off the internet over time.
Keep an open mind?
Who knows!
