Title: Lees / Llys House
Post by: JGarratt on Friday 20 May 05 17:52 BST (UK)
Hi

Does anyone know of or heard about Lees / Llys house in the Oswestry area. I have discovered that my 4th great grand-mother lived there as a child.

I know there is a Llys Lane in Oswestry which seems to come up often when i have researched..... are they connected?

Look forward to hearing from you all

Hi there

On the 1881 census there is a Llys House in Middleton or Middlelin Road, Oswestry. The family living there are the Jacksons (Thomas from Lpool c1820), he is a farmer of 500 acres, could this be the place?

Haven't found it on any other census yet but will let you know if I do.

Sue

Hi Jeannette,

I've just found out that my 3 x great-grandmother Tryphena Owen and her siblings were living at Llys House in Oswestry when she was a teenager. They're listed there in the 1841 England Census when she was 15 years old. Unfortunately I know nothing more about the house.

Cheers, Rachel
