Hi I wonder if anyone could help with information about my husbands family.
His 2ndGgrandfather was Francis LYNCH born in 1833 in Londonderry and he married we believe a Winifred Joyce born in 1842 from Mayo.The first information we have is from the 1881 census where they live in Gateshead.We are having difficulty piecing the jigsaw before that date .

eldest child born Sunderland later Gateshead and one in North Berwick On T[weed?]

Maybe the first step would be a birth cert for one of the children to confirm Winifred's maiden name, then a search for the marriage to establish father's names and occupations. I'd say the marriage could have been somewhere close to Sunderland..

baptism (looks the be RC) for son William in St. Joseph's, Gateshead - if it's the correct family it confirms Winifred's maiden name :

My Bridget JOYCE married Anthony Dixon i believe in Mayo Co.Between 1845 and 1850. Arrived in United States about 1852/3 lived in Ohio Bridgets obit says father was Anthony Joyce. Any connections? Dixie Dixon Flowers
