Title: can anyone tell me more about this photo?
Post by: linjarvis on Saturday 12 May 12 17:40 BST (UK)
This photo was found in the family and one person on it is supposed to be my grandfather. I don't know anymore about it than that although there is talk in the family of Mesopotamia. I don't know where it is or when it is or what regiment it might be. I know it is a huge ask but can anyone help? I can't find any reference to my grandfathers army records anywhere but everyone is certain he served somewhere! If it helps he was born and lived in Poole Dorset.

For people to have any chance with the photo you need to rescan and give us a larger scale version please.

This may not be your man but there is a Charles V Hutton Hampshire Regiment, Service number 4333 & 201860 rank Private to be found on the medal card index on the TNA site. With the army numbers and regiment given a search via Ancestry or Find My Past may come up with something which may confirm if he is or not the one that you are looking for.

OR.

Unfotunately when I tried to attach the orginal picture I couldn't post it as the file size was too large. Would it help if I cropped it and just send part? If so which would be the best bit to send?
