I think it is a strong possibility - as he was baptised same place as John was born?? Also it is Chester Cheshire - as apposed to "somewhere" in Cheshire
Have a look on family search for children baptised to John and Sarah (from census there is Hannah Isaac & Thomas

Hi All,
Happy new year !! any ideas how I can get a birth cert for richard beckett 1811 born in chester??
thanks
Angie :-*
-
Hi,
You cannot get a birth certificate -as registration did not begin until Sept qtr 1837.
What you have to rely on is baptism records from the parish registers. Occasionally (but not always) the d.o.b. was recorded as well as the date of baptism.

Can I just point out that the 1851 census for Isaac and Thomas is a mistranscription - should be
Backford - not Packford
my family are from there in late 1700`s and early 1800`s and the church is St Oswalds as stated.
I have visited Backford several times - a beautiful village ...and as a Gamekeeper in 1851 John Beckett would have been working at Backford Hall . an important job on a HUGE estate...
my ggggg grandfather Daniel Oakes was curate at St Oswalds around 1810

Hi Suz,
I got lucky today I found family search site and the baptisim is on it so apparently I have to go to an lds center to get a copy off the micro film.
Hi Garstonite,
Thanks for the info so my ggg grandfather and yours may have known each other in backford, I do wonder where he is buried... i'll have to take a trip there im not too far away, im in speke lol im assuming you are from garston?
Regards both
Angie.

Yes Angie.....I lived in the Prefabs in Speke in Rycot rd until they were demolished in 1967...now in Garston as you presumed ...and it is almost certain that my rellie and your rellie would have shared a pint together ....Backford is only a small village - nowadays it is quite posh ....

Hi Angie,
You can access images of the parish record at www.findmypast.co.uk - either by subscription or pay per view.
However, I read the baptism you are looking at to be at St Oswald's Chester and not at Backford: http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/chs/churches/chester-st%20oswald.html
A transcription of the Backford parish register is here: http://cgi.csc.liv.ac.uk/~cprdb/ and that doesn't contain the 1811 baptism for Richard Beckett.
Not saying it's the wrong one, but I don't think it is at Backford.

Sarah and Richard are both baptized 24th March 1811 at St Oswald Chester mother Sarah father John as a Gardener.
George, Hannah and Joseph 11th Dec 1822 father is now labourer. St John the Baptist, Chester.
James is 10th Oct 1824 Backford
John is 4th Sept 1814. St John the Baptist.
Thomas is 26th Jan 1831St John the Baptist.
These appear to be the only children with John and Sarah as parents.

There is a Marriage of a John Beckett gardener to a Sarah Jackson 17th Sept 1810 at St John the Baptist Chester.
