Title: Where are my Coppocks COMPLETED Thanks
Post by: sharonboon on Thursday 10 May 12 12:57 BST (UK)
Hi

I'm having trouble locating Edward and Rosetta Coppock on the 1881 census. I have them on the 1871 living in Cone St, Westoe, South Shields and have the records of their death in 1885 in South Shields workhouse so they are still around in 1881 but where? Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sharon.

No its not, they are family but not who I am looking for.

Edward was born 1813 and Rosetta 1815 (sorry should have said that in my first post)

Thanks,

Sharon.

Hmmm? Not sure about that! ;D

1851 census, living at Westoe, Rosetta 33, Edward 38, Mary12, George 6, William 3, Bell Wallace 9 months.
1861 census, living at Westoe, Rosetta 41, Edward 46, George 17, William 14, Edward 7
1871 census, living at Westoe, Rosetta 51, Edward 57, Edward 17

Then:
Deaths, December qtr 1885
South Shields district    vol 10a, page 347
Coppock, Rosetta    age 69

Also, same qtr    vol 10a, page 352
Coppock, Edward    age 72

That 1881 census looks good to me! ;D

It would solve a lot of problems if it were them. There ages are different on various bits I have but would Rosetta be called Ann?  One thing I do know on their  death records they didn't die as paupers (even though they died in the workhouse) so maybes that would explain the servant. I have looked at this record so many times and always talked myself out of it but perhaps it is them.

Thanks,

Sharon.
